Answers To Commonly Asked Questions
Q:
|
Can you explain the whole concept of
"Licensing"?
|
|
|
A:
|
When you see Mickey Mouse on a lunchbox or the
Dallas Cowboys' logo on a sweatshirt, the
manufacturers of the lunchboxes and sweatshirts
paid Licensing Fees (plus, usually, royalties)
to use the cartoon or logo. Licensing Fees (and
often, on-going royalties) are typically
attached to all forms of "intellectual
properties" like brand names, logos, images. The
Licensee, the person or company paying the
Licensing Fee for the specified Use Rights does
so for a variety of reasons and benefits, such
as brand name or logo recognition, a shortcut to
product, and a savings from having to use
advertising to build a new identity from
scratch. For example, a company choosing to
publish a diet, health and exercise magazine
chooses to pay a License Fee to use the Weight
Watchers name and trademark rather than create a
new name of its own because they believe this
will be a less costly shortcut.
In this case,
with this Marketing License, you are getting Use
Rights to many intellectual properties,
including Mr. Kennedy's name, likeness,
reputation, celebrity, facts about his
accomplishments.....his testimonials.....his
product titles and descriptions.....plus tested
and proven advertisements, sales letters,
lead-generation ads, even a Website. On top of
all that, you're getting a truckload of business
start-up and operational assistance and support.

Q:
|
Why is it better to acquire a License like this,
rather than just arranging to buy Mr. Kennedy's
products at wholesale, for re-sale?
|
|
|
A:
|
First of all, because, with rare, limited
exceptions, you can't just buy these products at
wholesale, unless, for example, you are an
established, substantial catalog company like
SkyMall, or a major newsletter publisher. And
even if you could, you'd typically buy only at
30%, 40% or 50% off of the retail prices, which
is not enough margin for success in mail-order,
and you'd have to buy a quantity of each product
at a time. If, for example, you bought just 24
of each product, at a 40% discount, you'd have
$49,674.24 tied up in inventory. And you'd have
to take delivery of all that product, then do
your own fulfillment. As owner of a Marketing
License, you can obtain the products from our
vendors with fulfillment….. individual shipping
right to your customer included.….for 80% off
retail; your entire cost is 20%; your profit
80%. With no quantity purchases, no money
tied up in inventory, no such hassles. Further,
as a Licensee, you don't just get Re-Sale
Rights, you don't just get product; you get Use
Rights to all the advertising, marketing and
sales materials, even the Website.

|
Q:
|
What
must I do to keep all my Rights as a Licensee?
|
|
|
A:
|
You canNOT lose any of your
Rights, ever. This is a PERMANENT License.
|
|
|
Q:
|
How does this compare to a franchise?
|
|
|
A:
|
Franchises typically impose many restrictions,
often including limited geographic territories
or other limits on who you can and cannot sell
to, where you can or cannot sell, or how you can
or cannot sell. There are NO SUCH RESTRICTIONS
with this Marketing License. You may sell to
anyone anywhere in the world, at any price you
choose, by any means you choose. Most franchises
also require you to buy goods, supplies and
services from the franchise company or to pay a
continuing royalty on all your sales to the
franchise company, or both. THERE ARE NO SUCH
CONTINUING OBLIGATIONS with this Marketing
License. You pay NO ROYALTIES, you keep all
your profits. You may buy from our vendors
but you are NOT required to do so. Finally, of
course, most franchises cost much, much, much
more, and offer no guarantees. This
Marketing License is issued on a "21 Day Free
Look", satisfaction guaranteed basis.
There are similarities, though. With this
Marketing License, you DO get the same kind of
valuable "brand identity", how-to instructions,
ready-to-use advertising, and support you would
get with many franchises. In this case, though,
you get everything with none of the restrictions
or continuing obligations inherent in
franchising.

Q:
|
Why is the License to Dan Kennedy products so
much more valuable than a License to other
information products?
|
|
|
A:
|
There are four main points to keep in mind:
1. PROVEN PRODUCTS--
these information products are ALL very, very
successful in the marketplace, sold via a
variety of media and methods, to the tune of
millions and millions of dollars.
2. EXCLUSIVE PRODUCTS
-- these are NOT "public domain", compilations
of "old" material from a hodge-podge of generic
sources, NOT available anywhere else.
3. BRAND NAME PRODUCTS
-- the Dan Kennedy name, and the amazing success
story, solid credentials, 20 year track record,
and extraordinary testimonials that go along
with it, add enormous value in terms of "saleability".
4. SATISFYING PRODUCTS
-- these products have a "domino effect";
virtually everybody who buys one Kennedy
product, buys more! This canNOT be said of most
informational or how-to products.
These products build your business for you.
As the customer testimonials so dramatically
demonstrate, these are products that really
perform, that genuinely help and benefit people,
and that you can be very proud to represent,
market and sell.

Q:
|
Amongst the ways these products are marketed,
you mention the Internet, the Website and
e-mail. What if I'm not very "with it" when it
comes to the Internet?
|
|
|
A:
|
Okay, you have undoubtedly heard a whole lot of
"hype" about getting rich on the Internet, and
frankly, a lot of it is "hot air". But I do make
money everyday via my Websites and e-mail
marketing, and you can too -- even if you are
not computer savvy at all. And there's no doubt
that use of the Internet to find good
information and resources by businesspeople is
increasing. That's why, I'm including a complete
"sales letter style" Website, customized for
you, in this Marketing License. And in the
Moneymaking Manual, I give you Strategies for
actively driving customers to your Website.
However, even if you don't choose to use those
Strategies and don't focus on this, you'll
probably get "accidental income" just like I
do..... just by adding your Website address to
your literature, correspondence, even just your
business card, people do go to the site, and
orders occur. The important thing is, that you
will be instantly operable with this site, as
your on-line store. And there are NO MONTHLY
MAINTENANCE FEES for the first six months…..it's
like owning a store with free rent!

|
|
Q:
|
You've said I can have the fulfillment of my
orders done for me -- how does this work?
|
|
|
A:
|
This is a terrific benefit I've put in place for
you at no extra charge. When you get an order,
you can simply instruct our vendor, and you pay
just 20% (you keep 80% profit!), and the vendor
pulls the product from his inventory and ships
it for you, under your label, direct to your
customer. (This 20% includes shipping by the way
-- so whatever you charge your customers for
shipping is extra profit for you!) You never
have to get product made, handle it, stock it,
or ship it. This frees you from drudgery, and it
keeps you from tying up money in idle inventory.
In fact, you'd probably have more money "locked
up" permanently in inventory to support your
mail-order business than the entire Licensing
Fee, if it weren't for this arrangement.
However, you are NOT required to use this; you
can request masters, originals and materials (at
an extra fee) and then have products produced
for you by any supplier of your choice.
You should also know that your customers names
are kept strictly confidential -- we will never
sell, rent, or trade your list, or market to
them in any way. They are your customers and
yours alone.

Q:
|
What about other little, nitty-gritty details of
running this business?
|
|
|
A:
|
A number of Licensees will already be in
business, and will be adding this. But there is
a special "Beginner's Fast Start Guide" section
in the Manual, where I take care of even the
most minute details. For example, I've even
arranged a PRE-APPROVED merchant account for
you, so you can accept VISA, MasterCard,
American Express and Discover cards. And the
usual set-up fee is reduced for you.
